Panel 1: “My music trains the AI. What can I do?”

The panel deals with the question of what music creators can do when facing a situation where their works are used as training data for AI. It deals with the rights of artists and authors and the ways in which their music can be protected from unauthorised use.
Chantal Bolzern will shed light on the legal perspective, while Ulrike Heinrich from the Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI) will contribute the perspective of the IPI. Min Li Marti will address the political framework, and Christian Bremer will share his real-world experience. The panel provides an opportunity to discuss how to deal with the growing use of music in AI development.

This panel focuses on the impact of AI on the creative process. Julian Parker from Stability.ai explains how artificial intelligence can be used in music production. Composer Adi Frutiger from Stories AG talks about his real-world experience of working with AI in creative projects. Chantal Bolzern will explain the legal framework for the use of AI in an artistic context.
