The Solothurn Film Festival 2026 offers songwriters numerous opportunities to network, gather inspiration and further develop their own projects. A panel co-organised by SUISA is aimed specifically at music creators who wish to access the world of film music.
Panel: How do I turn my sound into a soundtrack?
Saturday, 24 January 2026, 11:30-12:30
City theatre, Theatergasse 18, Solothurn
In collaboration with the Solothurn Film Festival, Sonart and SUISA, this panel was created for songwriters who want to take the plunge into the film music industry. It offers practical insights into central aspects of film music creation.
The panel is going to offer a vivid insight into the world of music supervision – from creative selection to targeted placement of music in films, series, adverts or games. It is also going to expand on how synchronisation and licensing work and which legal and financial aspects are relevant to this type of music use.
Furthermore, it shows how songs and scores find their way into audiovisual productions. The panel will be rounded off with compact insights into successful pitching, rights clearance and the practical processes involved in day-to-day work.
Included are:
- Marielène Froidevaux, label owner & sync expert, Zurich
- Barbara S. Weber, music supervisor, Munich
- Raoul A. Nagel, film music composer, St. Gallen
- David Burger, sync, label and legal expert, Basel
This will be followed by a networking aperitif – an ideal opportunity to meet experts in person.
