Swiss Radio Day has been bringing together radio broadcasters, decision-makers and media experts from Switzerland and abroad since 1999 for an industry get-together packed with innovation, dialogue and discussion about the future of radio.
SUISA will be among those attending the event at Zurich’s Kaufleuten and will present a panel focused on a topic that is currently keeping the entire music and media world on tenterhooks: artificial intelligence.
“AI, copyright and radio – SUISA’s perspective”
Digitalisation is changing the rules – and the advent of AI-supported music production makes it clear that the music industry is facing a paradigm shift. During our panel, SUISA will shed light on key issues relating to copyright, fairness and new licensing models in the age of artificial intelligence.
Panellists include Benjamin Gut, SUISA Legal Services, Roman Unternährer, Head of Regional Radio and Head of Music & Research CH Media, and Aakash Sethi, singer-songwriter.
What the public can expect from the SUISA panel:
- Categorisation of the creative dividing lines between humans and machines
- The legal challenge of correctly classifying AI-generated music
- The influence on radio stations as curators in a time of digital abundance
- A look at the future of licensing models and remuneration systems
- Ideas and solutions to enhance transparency and fairness in the value chain
The panel invites all those involved in the radio landscape to get involved and discuss how we can ensure creative diversity and fair remuneration within an environment shaped by generative AI.
Why SUISA supports Swiss Radio Day
Swiss Radio Day is not only a place for interaction, but also a catalyst for innovation in the radio industry. As a long-standing partner, we are keen to play an active role in shaping the debate on future-looking topics such as AI, copyright and media use. It is only by working together that we can create sustainable conditions for artists, media providers and the public.
We look forward to inspiring conversations, exciting panels and stimulating discussions at Swiss Radio Day 2025 in Zurich on 28 August.
